Kuusamo's enchanting natural surroundings have always been Tarja's passion, regardless of the season. The flowing streams and rapids, rugged hills, and mountains create a magical landscape and a place to relax.

Tarja, along with her family, spends a great deal of time in Kuusamo at their own cabin. In 2010, they had the opportunity to purchase a neighboring cabin when it became available for sale. Tarja promptly made an offer, which was accepted.

The idea of another personal haven in Kuusamo was born, which Tarja set out to renovate thoroughly. The location was perfect – by the tranquil and clear Vuosseli Lake, right next to the first cottage.

We have combined our passion for nature with sophisticated design approach to reveal fine detailed interiors.

In Tarja's vision, the cottage would be renovated and made available for high-quality rentals to those who appreciate quality and nature. The original structure and logs of the cottage, which were built 30 years ago, were preserved, while the rest of the building was modernized to meet today's standards.

The kitchen was selected from Puustelli's range, with an Olive Grey color. Appliances were integrated into the cabinets, and a white stone countertop extended to the backsplash. A custom-made modern "pirtinpöytä" dining table was created with a thick top and was also colored Olive Grey.

For the bedrooms, high-quality down comforters and pillows from Finnish brand Joutsen were selected. Headboards were custom-made to match the color palette, and black venetian blinds elegantly diffuse the natural light, a design element present in the living room and loft.

The sauna and bathroom were adorned with dark tiles, while indirect lighting introduced a soft, warm glow to the otherwise dark space. Tarja spent quite some time seeking out black wrought iron towel hooks from local antique stores to match the rustic design without adding any glossy, modern elements.

Luxuriously soft and perfectly hued Green Olive towels and bath linens were sourced from Lexington. Immerse yourself in the indulgence of unparalleled softness and sophistication. Your daily ritual just got a touch of opulence.

In the living room, overhead beams with concealed indirect lighting were installed, along with targeted lights on the walls, creating a cozy and soft atmosphere as if cradled by nature. The furniture was ordered from the local furniture supplier Tuovinen Oy, including the carpets, cushions, and various other decor items.

The old fireplace and chimney were completely removed, and a smaller, more compact corner fireplace with large glass doors and a built-in bench was designed by Tarja, offering convenient storage for firewood underneath.

The loft's wooden floor was painted white, and the window was enlarged. The bed legs were removed to create a cozy hideaway for relaxation.
